Maxwell Consultancy is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading Precision Engineering company in Glasgow as they look to add skilled Millers and Turners to their growing team. These are full-time, permanent opportunities based in their modern, state-of-the-art workshop. Following a period of remarkable growth, the business has doubled its turnover over the last year and continues to secure new opportunities within the aerospace sector. This is an exciting time to join a forward-thinking organisation that plays a key role in manufacturing high-precision, safety-critical components for the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Machinery set-up and operate machines
- Loading materials and unloading finished products
- Adjust speeds, cutter paths and other machine settings as required
- Follow technical drawings working to customer tolerances
- Carefully follow procedures and safety guidelines. Including company procedures, operating standards, and process documentation
- Maintain an accurate log of production and equipment problems, adjustments, and repairs. Machine inspections for mechanical or safety issues
- Ensure machines are well stocked with tools and material to ensure limited downtime
- Safety focus to ensure themselves and others are safe around operational machinery
- Flexibility to support production requirements during busier periods
Skills & behaviours:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow instructions
Qualifications & Experience:
- Time served CNC Turner or CNC Miller
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Experience of working to high quality standards on precision components
- Knowledge of safety and manufacturing regulations and procedures

Lathes:
- Puma 600 with Fanuc 21I-TB control
- Puma 700 with Fanuc 21I-TB control
Mills:
- Matsuura 35v / 3vs multi pallet 5 axis machines with Fanuc Series 16i – M controls
- Matsuura 42v / 63v multi pallet 5 axis machines with G – Tech 30i controls
shifts:
Day shift (Training period) - Mon to Thurs, 8 am - 4.30 pm & Fri, 8 am - 1 pm
Early - Mon to Thurs, 6 am – 2 pm & Fri, 6 am – 1.30 pm
Back - Mon to Thurs, 2 pm – 10 pm & Fri, 2 pm – 9:30 pm
Nights - Mon to Thurs, 10pm-6am & Fri, 10pm - 5.30am
