About the role Due to continued growth, Avove is seeking to appoint a Civil Engineer to support delivery across our United Utilities framework. Working predominantly on non‑infrastructure projects, this role will involve end‑to‑end design delivery at all stages of the project lifecycle. Responsibilities will include feasibility studies and optioneering, detailed design for construction, and support through commissioning. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure solutions are technically robust, efficient, and aligned with client and regulatory requirements.   Location: Warrington (Avove offers flexible hybrid working, with a combination of office and remote working)   Key Responsibilities Undertake non‑infrastructure design activities with minimal supervision as part of multi‑disciplinary project teams. Review and check the work of others, providing technical guidance and supervision to junior or less experienced staff. Obtain, interpret and analyse technical information, reporting findings clearly and accurately. Prepare and present engineering solutions through drawings, reports, calculations and other technical outputs. Produce engineering drawings and reports, and undertake site surveys as required. Develop designs that meet client requirements and comply with relevant standards, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and cost‑effective. Work collaboratively within a team environment to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders. Demonstrate a strong understanding of health, safety and welfare legislation, including the Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations, and ensure these principles are embedded within designs.   Skills & Experience Required A relevant degree qualification; candidates working towards a professional qualification are preferred. Applicants with equivalent experience who do not fully meet the academic criteria are also encouraged to apply. A strong technical background in the design of water and/or wastewater non‑infrastructure works is desirable, although candidates from related engineering disciplines will be considered. Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office and a working knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well‑structured technical reports.
