General Labourer - Raw Materials
Management & Supervision
£150 - £150 GBP hourly
We're looking for a hardworking and safety-conscious General Labourer to join our Raw Materials team in Tilbury.
This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute directly to the efficient operation of the site, helping to inspect, sort and process incoming wood materials, maintain high housekeeping standards, and support safe production activities.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday days, 48 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Inspecting incoming wood loads and removing contamination such as plastic, paper and non-wood materials.
- Sorting and preparing materials for processing.
- Supporting site operations by moving materials, emptying tip bins and assisting with refuelling activities.
- Carrying out housekeeping activities across the site to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Completing daily machinery and equipment checks and reporting any defects.
- Assisting with basic maintenance activities within your capabilities.
- Recording operational information, pre-start checks and relevant site documentation.
- Working safely in accordance with company procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Acting as a Traffic Marshal when trained and authorised.
- Operating mobile or static plant equipment when appropriately trained.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in an operational, outdoor environment.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within waste, recycling, manufacturing, aggregates or industrial operations.
- Traffic Marshal training.
- Mobile plant experience.
- Telehandler licence or experience.
- Experience carrying out load inspections or material sorting activities.
