Purpose
To maintain the kilns and associated kiln cars to a high standard of repair and the condition of kiln cars wheels, ensuring the kiln cars run safely and reliably. To monitor the refractory material and stock usage to ensure continuous supply of these materials. In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
Principal Accountabilities
- To regularly inspect all kiln cars and carry out the necessary repairs using the appropriate materials.
- Inspect and repair the kiln linings as required.
- Monitor and record the use of all refractories.
- Maintain adequate levels of refractory materials and inform Kiln Management of order requirements.
- Report any kiln truck wheel issues to Kiln Management.
- Record keeping for inspections and repairs.
- Stock checks of kiln car wheels.
- To comply with all Health and Safety Regulations and Company policies and to ensure at all times that the work area is clean, tidy and safe

Monday to Thursday: 07:00am - 3:30pm
Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm
