Roof Repair & Maintenance Engineer

Bedford (covering Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire) | Full-time | £35,000 - £40,000 pa + Bonus + Benefits

Building Transformation are a niche external building fabric access and maintenance company based in Bedford, working predominantly in the Southeast area. We are looking for an experienced Roof Repair & Maintenance Engineer with experience of planned and reactive roofing works across a range of systems, including flat, felt, single-ply, and pitched roofs. Work will be predominantly based in the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Northamptonshire areas.

Your role at a glance:

This is a hands-on role where you’ll deliver high-quality roof maintenance, inspections, and repairs across a range of client sites.

You will:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a variety of roofing systems. 
• Diagnose and resolve roofing defects, leaks, and failures effectively. 
• Undertake roof inspections and condition surveys, recording findings clearly. 
• Complete general repairs including patching, sealing, flashing, and minor refurbishments. 
• Work safely at height using appropriate access equipment and in line with health & safety standards. 
• Communicate professionally with clients on-site, providing clear updates on work carried out. 
• Identify and report additional defects or opportunities for further works. 
• Maintain accurate job records, reports, and completion documentation. 
• Work closely with internal teams to support service delivery and follow-on work.

• Strong attention to detail in both work and reporting. 
• The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively. 
• A flexible, proactive approach to reactive and planned work. 

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience across multiple roofing systems (flat, pitched, single-ply, etc.) 
• Relevant health & safety or access certifications (e.g. Working at Height, PASMA, IPAF)
