Skilled Labourer

Our Repairs and Maintenance teams play an important role in delivering our vision of providing great homes and great service. They ensure that our homes are safe, warm, and dry, and where everything works; places where our residents are proud to live. 

We are looking for a Skilled Labourer to join our team covering Cornwall. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, working 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday. 

As a Skilled Labourer with Guinness, you will carry out a range of physical tasks, including clearing waste from day‑to‑day repair works and applying products to treat and remove damp and mould, all in line with health and safety guidelines. You will also support colleagues by acting as the second operative on paired jobs.

This role requires strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine drive to get things done and make a difference for our residents.

You will be covering sites in Cornwall and travel will be required; therefore, applicants should hold a full UK driving licence.  

Essential skills and experience: 

• You must have experience in carrying out minor remedial building works.
• Experience of working in a customer-focused environment and ideally within the social housing sector, where you have delivered a great service
• Proven ability to work methodically, achieve targets, follow agreed procedures and accurately record information.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to carry out physical tasks such as clearing waste and apply products that remove and treat damp and mould, in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
• Ability to operate safely, considering any environmental circumstances and possible risks.
