Our Assistant CAD Technician will site within our Design team, assisting our CAD Technicians in the digitising of Gas, Electricity, Water and Fibre utility infrastructure projects.

This role will be digitising simple CAD Drawings and assisting the CAD Technicians to ensure that drawings are accurate, compliant and delivered within agreed timescales.

 

In this role you will be:

  • Assist the CAD Team, Design Engineers & Technical Coordinators in delivering Gas, Electricity, Fibre and Water infrastructure design drawings by producing AutoCAD drawings.
  • Ensuring drawings are accurate, compliant and delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Re-drafting of external design elements and hand sketches on to AutoCAD templates.
  • Offer full drawing office support to Clients, Technical and Operations team.
  • Liaise with internal Technical and Operations teams ensuring open and thorough communication channels.
  • Provide a high, maintained level of customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Maintain drawing record database.

 

You will need...

  • Proven experience within an Auto CAD position.
  • 2D experience is essential.
  • Qualified to A-level or equivalent or NVQ in a design field would be advantageous.
  • Auto CAD qualification would be desirable.
  • Maintain keen attention to drawing detail.
  • Analytical and evaluation skills.
  • Proactive and motivated approach.
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Empathetic approach to both internal and external customers, offering first class customer service at all time. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Produce and develop general arrangement drawings.
  • Strong all-round IT skills including MS Suite.
  • Knowledge of 2D drafting.
  • Knowledge of customer service and its impact on customer growth.
  • Knowledge and awareness of continuous improvement within new and existing processes.
