CAD Technician

As a CAD Technician, you'll play a key role in our design workflow, translating technical concepts into accurate, fully detailed CAD drawings that underpin successful project delivery. Working closely with our Technical Solutions Architects, you’ll produce and maintain high‑quality CAD designs and documentation that support every stage of the project lifecycle. We’re looking for someone confident with CAD software, proactive in their approach, and excited to take designs from initial concept right through to construction‑ready detail. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supporting and managing tasks throughout the full design process
• Checking and validating designs at key project checkpoints
• Working with multiple design management platforms, including BIM360
• Managing your own workload and diary in line with project deliverables, business priorities, and client needs
• Reading, producing, and reviewing specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and all essential design documentation
• Ensuring designs meet internal and client standards, as well as industry compliance requirements
• Building a strong understanding of the security systems used across our projects
• Staying up to date with emerging and evolving security technologies
• Conducting regular research into new technologies relevant to the security sector
• Visiting sites to strengthen your understanding of real‑world installations versus design intent
• Capturing lessons learned, maintaining a lessons‑identified register, and engaging the wider team to drive continuous improvement
• Collaborating closely with the design team to meet deadlines efficiently and effectively
• Attending internal and external design sync calls, including taking minutes where required
• Maintaining any current or future professional certifications
• Working cross‑functionally with other departments to ensure consistent standards and deliverables

• A foundational understanding of CAD and BIM processes
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
• Confidence working with technical documentation and design systems
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
• A willingness to learn, develop, and stay connected to industry advancements

Technical Skills Required

CAD

• Autodesk Certified User level of experience or equivalent
• CAD Working with External References
• Working with Dynamic Blocks
• Table/Data Import experience.

• Network Topology
• Experience working with Access Control/Alarm Monitoring/IP CCTV systems
