Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager - Transportation Infrastructure to take day-to-day responsibility for delivering transportation infrastructure projects across Bristol. You will oversee site operations, drive programme performance, and ensure the highest standards of health & safety, quality, and efficiency across highways and associated works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily site operations, including supervision of Foremen, Engineers, plant, and labour
  • Coordinate delivery of transportation infrastructure works, including highways, roads, drainage, and associated utilities
  • Ensure all risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), briefings, and toolbox talks are carried out effectively
  • Drive programme delivery by planning and coordinating resources, plant, and materials to meet key milestones
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, representing the business professionally on site
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, particularly within live or public-facing environments
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring performance aligns with programme, safety, and quality expectations
  • Monitor site progress and maintain accurate records, reports, and site documentation
  • Identify and mitigate risks, delays, and logistical challenges associated with transportation and traffic-sensitive projects
  • Complete company IT systems induction and training within the first 1–3 months

Requirements

  • 278 Works Experience a MUST
  • CITB SMSTS (5-Day)
  • First Aid at Work certification
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within transportation infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of highways works, drainage, traffic management, and public realm delivery
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Experience working in live environments with traffic and public interface considerations
  • Reliable, proactive, and solution-focused approach
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • CSCS Black Manager Card
  • NRSWA (Street Works) qualification
  • Experience managing multiple sites or phased highway/infrastructure projects
