As our new System Administrator, your primary responsibility is guiding the overall operation and configuration of the customer-facing software environment including performing day-to-day administration and maintenance. You will also work with a team of IT professionals responsible for the maintenance, growth, and security of our production environment and supporting non-production environments. In addition, you will handle escalated issues and projects and drive a forward-thinking approach to the systems architecture.

This is a hybrid opportunity out of our Port Talbot office OR REMOTE if UK based and not commutable to Port Talbot office.
Your Key Responsibilities as a System Administrator will be:
- Provide advanced server system administration to include design, configuration, and domain and policy design.
- Manage ACLs, User IDs, Groups, and other daily administration and security functions.
- Monitor systems and networks regarding performance and vulnerabilities.
- Create and maintain documentation on existing systems and processes.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce company security policies within the system environment.
- Identify and troubleshoot software problems.
- Identify, recommend, and implement specific tools that may deal with systems monitoring, management, patches and automated deployment.
- Install system software, coordinate local and remote server connectivity, and solve more advanced user or customer related problems as necessary.
- Lead team efforts to establish, document, and implement software installation standards for all systems.
- Lead initiatives to ensure the current software environments are well documented and mapped.
- Support implementation of disaster recovery processes and business continuity activities.
- Provide on-call technical support during non-business hours as required.
- Determine priority of action based on severity of service disruptions and respond appropriately.
- Implement projects to improve the system environments.
- Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis – Ability to respond to outages, perform postmortems, and implement preventative measures
- Disaster Recovery / Backup Planning – Experience setting up and testing DR strategies.
To be successful in this role you will require:
- 3+ years in configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting software systems (Linux OS, Docker, Microsoft Server 2019 or newer).
- 3+ years configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting SQL Server
- 3+ years working with Microsoft Web Application (.Net, IIS)
- Networks – VPN, Firewall rules, access controls
- Experience with SoftwareAG webMethods software a plus.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols, internet/network security and authentication.
- Strong understanding of file transfer protocols, FTP, sFTP, AS2, etc.
- Ability to communicate ideas during ad-hoc design or troubleshooting sessions, presentations, and in written form to a range of audiences with wide ranges of technical knowledge and ability.
Nice to haves would be:
- Active Directory – user & group management
- Azure
- Load balanced solutions with DFS
- Rest API, web service integration experience
- AIX experience a plus
- Perl Scripting a plus
- Experience managing, configuring, & supporting Hypervisor solutions (VMWare, Hyper-V, ProxMox, etc.)
