We are currently recruiting for a Carpenter to join our team in Kingston Upon Thames.

You will be expected to carry out maintenance, repair, and refurbishment work on social housing properties.

The role involves working both independently and as part of a team to ensure homes are safe, functional, and maintained to a high standard, providing excellent service to tenants and contributing to the improvement of housing stock.

Main duties involve:

  • Carry out first and second fix carpentry work, including door hanging, kitchen and bathroom installations, flooring, skirting, and fencing repairs.
  • Perform reactive and planned maintenance in occupied and void properties.
  • Ensure all work meets relevant safety and quality standards.
  • Diagnose and assess repair requirements, recommending solutions as appropriate.
  • Work closely with tenants, housing officers, and maintenance teams to complete jobs efficiently and with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out using handheld devices or paper-based systems.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, company policies, and relevant codes of practice.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent trade qualification).
  • Proven experience in residential carpentry, preferably within social housing or a similar environment.
  • Good understanding of building maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively on your own or as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid CSCS card (preferred)
