Purpose: To assist in the day-to-day maintenance requirements across the Club’s four main buildings and external ground areas to support the provision of excellent facilities for the enjoyment of Members, helping support and build the reputation of The Queen’s Club as the finest racquet sports club in the world.

  

Key Responsibilities


Painter & Decorator:

  1. Carry out all painting and redecoration work across the Club as instructed by the Maintenance Manager.
  2. Perform all works to a high standard and complete on time and calculating the materials needed for jobs.
  3. Always working in a safely manor keeping places clean and tidy from dust and paint etc.

 

Maintenance:

  1. Assist and complete reactive maintenance requirements across the Club as instructed by the Maintenance Manager and to the schedule set including:
    1. Re-lamping, repairs to fixtures and fittings and any other general maintenance needs.
    2. Electrical work
    3. Carpentry
    4. Plumbing
  2. Perform preventative planned maintenance work and general routine checks, as instructed and scheduled by the Maintenance Manager, reporting any faults immediately. Including: weekly fire alarm checks; fire door checks; hot and cold water temperature checks; salt and water softener levels; shower head de-scaling and, at weekends, Business Management System checks.
  3. Respond to/report any immediate maintenance needs received personally from Members, Club building tenants, management or staff.
  4. Assist and work on any capital project undertaken by the Club including working with and helping external contractors where required.
  5. Assist in the preparation and build of successful events and tournaments across the Club including the summer pre-Wimbledon tournament. Provide on-call maintenance support during any tournament and to help reinstate the Club for Member use, working any extra hours as necessary, as instructed by the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.

Safeguarding and Child Protection and Health and Safety (H&S):

  1. Follow The Queen’s Club safeguarding policy and procedures at all times; be vigilant on all matters of child and adults at risk protection.
  2. Ensure the workshop is kept clean and tidy at all times and workshop safety standards, including PPE requirements, are adhered to at all times
  3. Ensure all maintenance equipment is used and stored safely and within the health and safety regulations including scaffolding, ladders and access platform.
  4. Comply with all safety regulations when using/storing and issuing chemicals/hazardous substances adhering to the Club COSHH standards at all times.
  5. Work safely at all times adhering to Manual Handling Regulations.
  6. Work within the statutory health and safety requirements generally. Reporting any issues of maintenance and health and safety within the workshop and/or across the Club to ensure required safety standards are met.

 

General Requirements:

  1. Make suggestions and recommend any improvements to the Maintenance Manager.
  2. Assist where possible and as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
  3. Help control costs wherever possible.
  4. Attend internal meetings as required.
  5. Conduct all aspects of your work and behaviour in line with the values of The Queen’s Club.
